The "Agriculture, Forestry, and Human Photography Contest" has been organized annually since 2009 by the Education and Publishing Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, with the sponsorship of DenizBank. The contest aims to raise awareness about the importance of agriculture, soil, forests, and water; and to archive agricultural developments as well as the relationships between agriculture, forests, nature, environment, and humans through aesthetic and subjective perspectives.
The contest covers a wide range of topics including agriculture, livestock, forestry, water, aquatic products, food and preservation, and wildlife; essentially, any activity related to agricultural movements, producers, farmers, breeders, rural and village life. It features six categories: "General," "Farmer," "Student," "Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Employees," "DenizBank Employees," and "Theme." The theme for the 2023 contest was designated as "Just Produce Enough."
In its thirteenth year, 2023, the contest jury included two masters of photography, Reha Bilir and Coşkun Aral, as "Guests of Honor." A total of 1,879 participants submitted 7,368 works, with awards given across six categories, and 120 works deemed worthy of exhibition.
The award ceremony for the contest was held on October 3, 2023, at the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) Ada Ankara.
