The third event of the serial project “Traces from Anatolia,” which has been planned as an interdisciplinary meeting, will be held in Atatürk Cultural Centre between December 1-30. The project consists of a select exhibition that has been formed with the paintings, sculptures, and ceramic works belonging to contemporary Turkish artists.

Within the scope of the project which include works of 64 artists, all of whom are experts in their fields, the state artist Şefika Kutluer, who is commonly called “The Magical Flute” will be performing. 

The panel on “Anatolian Civilisations and Arts” will feature the artist and founder of Imoga Museum Prof. Süleyman Saim Tekcan, Kültepe Site Director Prof. Fikri Kulakoğlu, the Dean of Başkent University Prof. Adnan Tepecik, and the manager of Ankara State Painting and Sculpture Erdem Akkurt as the speakers. 

“Traces from Anatolia” İstanbul, where the historical heritage forming Anatolia’s cultural texture gets to be conveyed through arts, has been prepared thanks to the contributions of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Siret Uyanık will be assuming the coordination and execution processes of the project, whereas GaleriM Art Gallery will be carrying out the project. The president of the executive board will be Meral Öztürk, and her consultants will include Prof. Dr. Aydın Ayan, Prof. Dr. Adnan Tepecik, Prof. Dr. Alaybey Karoğlu, the academician, author and painter Bünyamin Balamir and historian Prof. Selim Ferruh Adalı.

Within the scope of the project, 28 young artists have reflected on their works of art Kültepe Tablets. The exhibition, which has been realised with the consultancy of the site director Fikri Kulaklıoğlu, exhibits paintings, sculptures, and ceramic works. The project’s text was prepared by the art historian Prof. Dr. Kıymet Giray.

  • İstanbul AKM’s exhibition areas are closed on Mondays. They can be visited on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between the hours 10am and 8pm.
