Concert
Presidential Classical Music Chorus
Concert
Conductor: Mehmet Güntekin
Soloist: Bekir Ünlüataer
The Presidential Classical Turkish Music Chorus, conducted by Mehmet Güntekin, comes to the stage for the audience's appreciation with select works compiled among songs that can be cited as Atatürk's "special repertoire" from Turkish Music. The concert, centred around one of the oldest maqams of our classical music culture, Zâvil, is organized to be a gift to the memory of Beloved Atatürk on his 84th anniversary of passing into eternity. During the instrumental part of the concert, we will feature a composition of the great composer Refik Fersan, one of the friends in the close circle of the Halâskârgazi (The Saviour Ghazi). The soloist Bekir Ünlüataer will sing the works Atatürk loved listening to at music gatherings, and our concert will make its closer with folk songs from Rumelia, with the sound of the lands where Atatürk was born.
