The work will be performed at the Atatürk Cultural Center Türk Telekom Opera Hall on May 13, 27, and 31, 2023. The libretto of the work, adapted from William Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" and "Henry IV," belongs to Arrigo Boito. The production, to be performed in Italian, is directed by Renato Bonajuto. The İstanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra is conducted by Tolga Atalay Ün. Set design by Efter Tunç, costume design by Ayşegül Alev, and lighting design by Yakup Çartık. The choirmaster of the work is Paolo Villa.
Set in 14th-century England, the work tells the story of a chain of events that begins with the fat womanizer Falstaff, one of the most amusing characters created by Shakespeare, trying to seduce Alice Ford and Meg Page, who are married and close friends, at the same time. In this comedy, it is emphasized that everything is a joke in this world full of fools after experiencing confusion about love, money, ambition, and all human emotions.
In the work, Işık Belen, Cengiz Sayın, Caner Akgün, Alper Göçeri, Murat Güney, Berk Dalkılıç, Ufuk Toker, Çağrı Köktekin, Anıl Önder, Hazal Ata, Can Reha Gün, Bahadır Özkoca, Göktuğ Alpaşar, Erdem Sakarya, Ali Haydar Taş, Şebnem A. Kışlalı, Deniz Yetim, Sevim Ateş, Dilruba A. Bilgin, Özgecan Gençer, İpek Zehra Evre, Deniz Likos, Ayçin Sürücüer, Nesrin Gönüldağ, Barbora F.Hitay, and Elif Tuğba Tekışık take turns in roles.
