In the project Beyoğlu Culture Road, the exhibition to be spread over Atatürk Cultural Center, “The Youth Are On the Road”, is a multi-participatory exhibition centred on young artists. The works of the young artists in the exhibition are produced between 2018-2022, and while some have been on display on various expositions before, the rest are comprised of works on the way to their first debut.
Being on the road denotes a process. It explains continuity, arrival, and the stay. When art is concerned, production requires carrying on. The youth’s art production focuses the exhibition, both materially and immaterially, on to be on the road. To think, to dream, and to produce are to be on the move incessantly. Atatürk Cultural Center, located in Taksim, is also a landmark of memory, a place of intersection/rendezvous. In this respect, AKM is included in the act of being on the road, being at the juncture, and being a departing point. With the title, “The Youth Are On the Road”, the exhibition fixes its focus both on young people and their production.
