Kenan (Ediz Hun) lives in a mansion in Çamlıca. Kenan’s father, Lieutenant Ziya Bey, died in a hunting accident. Consequently, Inspector Azmi Bey (Hulusi Kentmen) has been father to Kenan. When Kenan grows up, he falls in love with Nalan (Hülya Koçyiğit), Azmi Bey’s daughter. The only problem is that Nalan is afflicted with continuous coughing attacks. Dr İlhami (Kartal Tibet) diagnoses her with pleurisy. Hıçkırık, the Sobbing, 1965, is a Turkish film directed by Orhan Aksoy. The screenplay of the film is written by Hamdi Değirmencioğlu, whereas the stars of the production are Hülya Koçyiğit, Ediz Hun, and Kartal Tibet. This is the second adaptation of Kerime Nedim’s novel by the same name, written in 1936. Atıf Yılmaz made the first adaptation in 1953. In 1971, the sequel movie adapted from the sequel novel by Kerime Nadir, The Last Sobbing (Son Hıçkırık), was released.
