Dream Machine is an exciting trip through the world of dreams based on a monologue by the playwright Matin Soofipour Omam about an impossible farewell. The performers are finding themselves in an absurd and fluid dream-environment which can be cheerful in one moment, but turns into a nightmare right after, bringing along memories which are better forgotten. In a very unique and original way the show combines theatre, performance and music to make the strange world of dreams graspable. Before and after the show audiences are invited to share their personal dream memories in the form of voice messages within an old phone booth at the Ataturk Cultural Center. This way an ever-growing dream archive is created which will be revealed during the performance.
The performance at AKM is supported by The German consulate General in Istanbul, the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine Westphalia and NRW Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Künste. It was created with support by Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media within the program NEUSTART KULTUR, Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine Westphalia, NRW Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Künste.
