Concert
Within the scope of the Year of Yunus Emre events, İstanbul State Opera and Ballet will be performing Adnan Saygun’s Yunus Emre Oratorio. Completed in 1943 and staged for the first time in 1946 in Ankara, it was the first oratorio to be composed by a Turkish composer. It deals with Yunus Emre’s life, death, his struggle against the concepts of fate and faith, and his final arrival at “the Beloved.”
