The phrase "coexistence" refers to the state of living together in harmony and peace by individuals or communities. This concept emphasizes the ability and desire of people from different cultures, beliefs, or lifestyles to live together. Coexistence requires values like social harmony, tolerance, respect, cooperation, and empathy. The concept of unity is one of the fundamental goals of many societies and countries because, in this way, societies can live in a more peaceful, fair, and sustainable manner.
In the realm of art, coexistence and existence manifest through the innovative expressions produced by artists from various art disciplines looking from broad and pluralistic perspectives. The rich diversity created by these creative expressions existing together is evident. At this point, the contribution provided to art by artists coming together with different perspectives is one of the most critical elements that ensure diversity and the development of art.
In conclusion, "coexistence" means the ability and will to live together despite having different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. It aids societies in building a better future. In art, the concept of "coexisting" emphasizes the diversity and dynamism of the art world. It is a societal way of life where different artists can enhance the universal value of art and enrich experiences by coming together.
With the declaration of the Republic, Atatürk, who carefully addressed the problems in the field of culture and art, initiated intensive studies on culture and art, especially from the 10th anniversary celebrations, and made significant regulations in the field of plastic arts. In the 100th anniversary of our Republic, which forms the foundation of Turkish society's values, the "Coexistence One Hundred Per Cent" exhibition, realized with works specially produced by 100 artists, represents the success of coexistence in the history of art and our country.
